I happened to stumble across this website, and it had these photos from the Great Depression in the 40s. They make you feel like you are caught in that time period directly in that moment. Very educational, and also humbling to remember how modestly people were forced to survive. I especially love the one of the young girl in the garden next to the wood cabin. I would love to visit a place like that, a great possibility for future inspiration for my personal home/garden.

This woman is absolutely AMAZING!!!! She did beautiful botanical collages, and also needle work in the 1770s. A book featuring her art work called “Ms. Delany and Her Circle” is now on the top of my Christmas list. I cant wait to research her life some more!
